to be honest....ag bags are a joke. on average a bag runs about 1200.00. thats with operation of the machine. why spend money on plastic that your just gonna throw away or run over and bury in the mud. if bags arent on concrete they make a real mess in rainy conditions. the slightest rip or hole in the plastic will ruin quite a bit of silage....mice or rodents digging underneath can spoil alot of silage. bunkers might seem a little expensive...but consider 1200.00/bag times number of bags/year. in a couple years you could have paid for a bunker or silo instead of throwing away plastic. we have 5 bunkers and with preservatives on the feed we have almost no spoilage.
