I've used them several times, using rented baggers. Most renters charge about $750 for the bag (8 or 9 by 150 foot) and use of the machine. That holds about 150 tons of corn silage. Bags are available in other diameters and lengths. Feed quality is excellent, with no spoilage like you find in bunkers. Bunkers are good with a lot of packing and a good plastic cover, otherwise you have considerable loss of feed and feed value. Bags are a good alternative to buying permanent, expensive structures. Annual cost of storage is about $5 per ton, less on larger bags, and if you own the machine, it's easier to resell than any silo. Common now in mid-MN to feed year around with bags, skidloader and wheeled TMR- in spite of our winters!
