Finding the original section corners can really add up the costs. Many times, corners of property could have been just walked off and a metal plate nailed to a tree. Sometimes these plates can be off a bunch of feet. Find out the jobs these surveyors have done, and find out who's reasonable. It can be cheaper if a neighbor wants his property surveyed too, then you can split the costs of finding the original corners. I got an estimate of $5500 to establish my corners, and do the paper work to split off 3 pcs of 5 acres each. Every state and county has their own regs, and costs to do this stuff.
