I have a strange problem that I'm hoping someone on this list can help me with: I have a 1989 Craftsman Yard Tractor (model 917.254760). 16 HP Briggs & Stratton Automatic Transmission Engine works perfectly. Last used: End of February, 2002 PROBLEM: When I release the clutch and push the Motion Control Lever, nothing happens... and I mean NOTHING... no movement, no sound, no change whatsoever. The drive belt is moving perfectly and all the wheels it goes around are turning with it... but no movement of any kind. In FREE DRIVE (which loosens the drive belt), the tractor's back wheels are locked, but the parking brake is off. I took the brake apart, I even started the tractor up and tried to put it in gear without the brake attached and once again... nothing. No one I talk to has a clue. Do you? Thanks.
