it takes only two bidders to make an auction. the one that wants it bad enough wins(?). if you were raised in a farming family, your family should have some idea what it'll bring in your area, otherwise get ahold of your FSA office. here (n iowa), land is renting for 120 to 165. good luck against the big boys, they seem to usually bump us smaller guys out. i don't really blame them as much as the landlords. the landlords are the only ones who can change it, but most of them don't seem to remember how tough it was starting out from scratch. again, good luck, but don't get dragged into a bidding contest.
