Ryan, I'm more than a little biased toward the letter series Dave refers to, but for simplicity they're hard to beat. Good, simple, reliable machines. On a SuperC, for example, if you discount the battery cables and plug and coil wires, you can rewire the whole tractor with 6 long strands (7, if you splurged and got the rear light)and three or four jumpers of 10 or 12 guage stuff. If you really want to do an uptown job, CaseIH will sell you a harness that bundles three wires together. Sorry, no plug , just three round-eye terminals at each end. Size follows the alphabet, A's the smallest, M the biggest. That said, the later Farmalls are nice tractors to work on too, but they are from an era when IH was responding to demand for bigger and heavier tractors. Technology made them somewhat more complex as they went along, but still laid out to make them good to work on. Bigger isn't so much a factor as heavier. Could be a consideration for you when it comes to what sort of equipment you have or need to get if your plans include overhauling/rebuilding. Pick your level and go for it! Scotty

My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
