Back in the 50's my Dad pulled an A-6 Case pull type combine with an 8N Ford tractor using the 3 point drawbar.The combine was heavier than the tractor and had alot of tongue weight.He had the stabilizer bars on which held the 3 pt drawbar in place so it couldnt move.So yes a 3 pt drawbar can pull a big load as long as it has stabilizer bars used with it.
