You did not mention if you have trailer brakes. Different states have different laws regarding them. A 28 foot trailer is pretty long for a CA Allis, it might be a more enjoyable and safer trip if you could use a buddies 14 or 16 foot trailer. Check your road atlas many have an overview on trailer towing regulations listed by state. A neighbor farmed 180 acres with a CA when I was growing up they were amazing little tractors. The fellow was an exmarine who enlisted before wwII and survived Guada Cannal, I don't know who was grittier him or the little Allis.
