Secret Dad taught Me was to grease the bottoms when You stored the plow for the year. The thicker & heavier the grease the better. I've used those 4-5" dia. SCOTCHBRITE Pads mounted on a drill. They just remove the rust and leave the steel alone with a finish that seems to scour pretty quickly. No sand at all around where I grew up... Just CLAY... Pulled hard and tough to get the plows to scour.
