To answer your question directly, I would rather have $100,000.00 in an IRA for investment purposes. HOWEVER: I have never viewed my tractor hobby as an investment. There is no telling how much money that I have pilfered away in boats, trucks, cars and other toys over the years. But I can say this, I have never been happier and more at ease than I am now preserving the old iron. It reflects the American heritage that I grew up with. I have one Farmall M in particular, that I would not part with for anything short of six-digits. I know I will never get that sum of money for it, and that does not bother me at all!
