What you need is either steel or copper solid core wires. They work better on magneto ignitions because the mags have what is called a safety gap that the spark can jump if a wire falls off to save the coil insulation from a "blow out".Resistor or carbon wires add to the "electrical pressure" and may cause missing from the spark jumping the safety gap under certain conditions. You can get black rubber or cloth wrapped solid core copper plug wire from some of the guys who sell Hit and Miss engine parts. I tried to get some from Napa and other auto parts stores but all they have is a high tech solid spiral wrapped core wire that is expensive and more suited for high RPM drag race engines, plus they have goofy colored plug boots that would have to be cut off.
