I am trying to decide whether to tackle opening up the transmission cover on a massey 240. the steering unit is mounted on the top of it. I finally got my hands on a manual that does give some detail on the process, but I was just wanting to pick anyone's brain as far as the simplest way to get to it. this one has what they all the 8 speed, 4 forward and one reverse with a high and low splitter. it apparently wouldn't go into any forward gear and the fellow loosened a set screw through a plug on top and got it in reverse. so now I know I'll need to get in there and see what's going on with the shift sector
