The bead was leaking on the rear tire on an old lawnmower.
I used the outrigger on my terramite to break the bead loose. Cleaned the tire and rim with a wire brush on a drill. Applied green slime to rim and tire. It stopped the leak.
One time I used silicone instead of slime. I had to take that tire to the tire shop to have them install a new valve stem.
Besides adding a tube, what have you used to stop a bead leak?
