I need help on finding out what my JD 3 cylinder engine is, it's a military issue from the early to late 60's to mid 70's the model # or the serial # tag is gone from engine but for sure it's a John Deere according to th ex-owner. That's one issue the other is it's been sitting without fuel for about 9 to 10 years, will start with starting fluid, I'm having no luck trying to bled air, not for sure if it's the fuel transfer pump with a primer level are injection pump or a combination of problems, trying to keep from spending a fortune getting the Stanadyn JDB-2406 pump rebuilt. It's a 25 kw generator and will be a standby power for my house. Does anybody have any ideals? Thanks in advance for any advice. Would it be better to try to sell it or put more money in it, or list it somewhere for sale.
