My neighbors 2 brothers ( they would be about 105 - 110 years old ) had a wire tie baler that thier wives sat on ,one on each side I think,fed the wire, put the blocks in and tied the bales, one brother drove, the other on the rack, they( the wives ) were very dirty at days end. When they bought a 24 T new ( the son still has and uses it) they said the 24 made to light of bales so they used the wire tie on the straw for years. the one brother Sidney made a tool to straighten the wire ends so they could be used several times.
