About 20 years ago I bought a L245SS with a loader, although it may have been a DT,instead of an SS.The owner said he went to top off the radiator,it had a hole in it from a branch. He wanted to fix it so he put a pressure tester on it and pumped it up.He heard a pop and the water came out of the dipstick.Never tried to start it after that, and I bought it.In the timing chest,in the front of the block a freeze plug had popped out.It was laying on top of a timing gear.By being smart enough to not turn it over he saved it.He told me it needed a clutch too,so I sent that out and had it done while the rest of the tractor was apart.I remember it cost me $550.from Fort Wayne Clutch to get it done.Mine was 4 wheel drive,it was a sweet little loader tractor.
