Avoid one that is integrated into a license plate frame.
I bought one on clearance from BJ's wholesale club thinking it would be great on my 2002 Chevy pickup. Went to install it and it won't fit with the rear step bumper.
What I ended up doing is backing it up with an aluminum license plate blank, some magnetic door sticker material, and slapping it on the tailgate. Works great. Sat all winter in the barn with no sunlight and worked perfectly in the spring.
