The engine spins over pretty decent on all 3 of the machines we have that utilizes this engine. On this hiboy it does have a belt driven hydraulic pump that is not capable of being disconnected at startup. Normally I will shake the steering wheel slightly which seems to dump some hydraulic pressure and aid in start ability. I was not aware of a larger starter that would fit these engines. That would be a help.
