When I swapped my narrow front for a wide front on my WD45 the steering shaft coming out of the wide front was shorter than the one used on the narrow front. Of course my wide front came off a WD so it maybe different than one off a WD45.
I bought my wide front off a parts dealer and when it arrived I noticed the steering shaft had been cut. Luckily the seller had another one he sent me for free, but was mad his guys had cut the shaft on the wide front he sold me.
