My wife's grandfather had a 686 with the not german Diesel he bought new. I only got to drive it a time or 2 and thought it was a decent tractor. He only had about 1700ish hours on it as he only plowed and disc'ed and picked corn with it. after he passed her grandmother sold it to someone they knew but i don't know who off hand. I suspect she gave it away. I have the IH windbreak he had for it and the tire chains since they were still there when we bought the farmstead.
we were able to buy his IH 444 he also bought new as her grandma didn't sell that. was going to see if i can make the tire chains work on the 444 by shortening them up. Don't know if i can get the windbreaker to fit the 444 so i may sell it.
