I use them because the wife insists. The audiologist told us I have profound hearing loss. They do not help me much. I hear birds better which is nice but I also hear a bunch of crap I would rather not hear, foot shuffling for instance. One quit working so I find one more useful. I hear stuff with my ear without the aid that helps me. My mother taught me to speak up when talking to someone with a hearing problems. What happened to that? The audiologist says no one does that anymore.
