Yes, dealers were supposed to repaint them, but this one got away without a coat of red paint. I knew of this tractor since I was their newspaper boy and at that time I wondered why THEY had bought a red cub and painted it white!
There are no traces of red, other than the wheels, PTO unit and the headlights, but the paint on the headlights is worn off now from many years of people hanging onto them while crank starting it. Even the original, extremely brittle sparkplug wires were painted white at the factory.
