I find this difficult to admit being the Oliver guy I am but it has to be the 710 JD. It has done more work for me personally and my Dad before me than all the Olivers we have ever owned! It had a major over haul when I was somewhere around 12 years old, so 50 years ago. The fellow that overhauled it was known to partake in the odd beer and on the night he put the engine back together he had partaken quite a bit more than his fair share. I can remember Dad having to leave the shop to go do the milking and telling me to keep an eye on the mechanic while he was gone. I asked him what I was supposed to do? Dad says if he goes to fall over dont let him hit his head on the floor So I watched him put the sleeves and pistons in while Dad did the milking. This tractor is still one of the most used to this day with only minor repairs! There is something to be said about German built tractors. ( and drunk mechanics!!)
