Thank you! I have a couple more pictures at a different angle to make sure Im doing this right. The wire with the existing connector will be insulated and re-connected to the brush with the small nut. The wire between the two field coils will be insulated - my concern is that I am not understanding where that little nubbin of a wire goes to...the other wire at the bottom of the field coil goes to the F connection for field energizing I assume. Is that bit of wire with solder on it anything? Sorry please be patient as electrical stuff is not my strong point.
