I bought a 1951 Cub with a 4-foot belly mower several years ago because, well, I think they're so darned cute. I also mow with two 47-inch John Deere 200-series garden tractors as well as a 60-inch Woods under a 1951 8N Ford. I love riding on the Cub, but as mowers go it can't compare with the Ford, of course, but not even with the 212 and 214 Deeres. It is just vastly underpowered in anything taller than putting-green grass. Half cuts at highest height are the rule. Don't get me wrong -- I still love the Cub and would buy another one, but I don't use it much any more. At least it stores in tight shed space.
