There was a fair number of those sold around here. The thing that gets me was that a guy bought a farm a half a mile up the road from me and there was an Oliver 500 that went with the place. I seriously doubt that tractor had 300 hours on it. It just sat in a dark tool shed. One of the first things he did was trade that 500 in on a new Ford 5000 Row Crop. At the time, I didn't give a rat's rear end about the 500, but I sure wish now that I had bought it. I asked the guy who owned the Ford dealership at the time, and his dad, if either one remembers where the Oliver ever went and neither one could remember.
