How full is the tank if empty it can sometimes look like plenty of fuel and not flow enough to start. Then is there a lift pump like your old chevy has on it if so it might be bad pull it off and work the lever to the cam shaft if it squirts fuel a long ways in a good stream it is probably ok. Then If you have not removed the return line off the pump it might have a plugged return not letting it start. Or if the rack is stuck in the off position it can't start till it is loosened up. Not sure what pump it has so some of this may not apply .
