I have a 1966 Ford 4000 four cylinder diesel tractor. It has been as solid as a rock for the 5 or 6 years I've owned it. It starts right up in cold weather or hot weather. I tried to start it yesterday and the engine turned over very well but it didn't even try to start. Today, I checked the flow of fuel to the fuel filter, and the flow from the filter to the injector pump and all was good. However, I have no flow whatever out of any of the injectors. It's a Stanadyne injector pump. The throttle linkage to the pump is free and operates through its entire range of movement.
So, this question might be so simple it's foolish, but here goes. I know virtually nothing about diesel engines. What do think? In my simple mind it seems like the injector pump has failed, but it is an overnight failure, the tractor was working fine when I parked it in the shed a couple of days ago.
