Actually, at least one of those cast bell housing mounts you mention is at least cracked and maybe part of the mounting casting itself broken off near that pin that is anchored into the tub ..... I'm not near the tractor right now. But That is common with those tractors, I've seen several like that so didn't give it too much thought with regards to this current problem. Funny thing is that I used the tractor last fall to pull our pulling sled around our club's site for winter storage. We had just had the tractor given to us and I don't remember that issue at all with the shifting problem and getting the tractor into gear like it is now.
