Hi all,
I just purchased my first tractor. It's a John Deer 401C diesel. I am hoping you guy's or gals can help tell what engine I have and what year this tractor is based on the numbers if have. The tractor tag numbers are Tractor numbers 401CD 305275T, and the engine numbers are Type 4219DT 05 Serial 467670T. The tractor does not run unless you spray starter fluid manually. Previous owner says the injection pump is bad. Previous owner provided 4 new injectors. I am good at wrenching on gas motors, but know very little about the diesel engine. My plan is to do all the repairs myself. In order to get the right parts, in really need to know my exact model, year etc. I would really appreciate any help.
