I am in the process of repairing two rims. The rust wasn't very bad. Just that the stem hole was enlarged to one inch. That is the way they came on the tractor 25 years ago. I swapped some others onto it back then and these have been just sitting. I welded the holes up and took them to a commercial blaster. They were about $60 each to blast, although I removed the thick chunks first with the slag hammer. That took maybe fifteen minutes. When I got them back I killed the rust in the deep pits with phosphoric acid then painted the insides Rustoleum rusty metal primer. They are PA rims so I think that they are worth saving. I need more traction on this tractor so I will be reloading them.
