Yesterday I attended an estate auction that was held just NW of Chanute,Kansas...The wind was out of the north and it was pretty cold in the morning, but by 12 noon it was sunny and got in to the upper 50's...The day before it was 70 degrees..Today its 43 and drizzling..The normal high temp today should be 70 degrees....There were 21 tractors and only 2 ran..Half of the other tractors had stuck engines and about half had free engines..Lots had 1-2 flat tires...Everything had to be removed by Monday at 5 PM....

They are going to have another sale at this place on May 7th with 20 plus tractors on it..Most of the tractors were in plain view but 5 or 6 of the family were guarding them like everyone was thieves..They had yellow tape up and you had better not cross it...I talked to several people that said they would not be coming back because of this...They didnt have a real big crowd yesterday..Everyone wondered why they just didnt have one big sale and get it over with but its theirs to do as they please..I wont be back because my first tractor pull is May 7th..

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Hydraulics - The Basics - by Curtis Von Fange. Hydraulics was one of the greatest inventions for helping man compound the work he can do. It’s amazing how a little floor jack can lift tons and tons of weight with just the flick of a handle.
