Pull the black plastic cap off the end. The terminal post that feeds the lug into the starter case will need its nut removed the one the battery cable connects to will come with it. Now look at the back side of the batter cable terminal the washer hits against inside. If it is burned way down take it loose and turn it 180 degrees and tighten it back down. Sand the arcing area around the outside of the washer with some emery cloth. If the washer is burned real bad it can be turned over by removing the spring retainer clip. The terminal that stuck through for the starter lug usually does not burn as bad because it connects first, and since it has a wire connection running in to the pull in coil it cannot be turned as easily. Reassemble and put it back on start it up and go on with life happy as a clam.
