Don't know what he is doing with the acres
Gates; well many shell companies owned by Gates own 69,000 + acres of Louisiana farm and timber land. He owes or did own a multitude of other stuff like a private airport used by crop dusters.
One plantation he owns consist of 27,000 + acres. Gates bought it from hedge fund billionaire George Soros. George Soros bought it from former WorldCom leader Bernard Ebbers who died in prison for his shady deals. Gates still grows crops on the fields but the particulars are well hidden. With crop prices like they are I assume the past dealings where the former owners ran this land as a largely subsidized soybean farm might not be the case today. But you can bet your last dollar Gates is not buying all this farm land because he likes to drive a tractor.
