I have been trying to help my neighbour diagnose a no start problem with his mini hoe with an Isuzu model 3ld1 diesel engine. This only occurs on the first start in the morning and requires a short sniff of ether to make it happen. Once started it will run fine and stop and start for the rest of the day with no problems. He owned the unit for 15 years without this problem before. The glow plugs seem to work as there is power to the three glow plugs.I have found the owners service manual online but not a shop maintenance manual. It almost seems like there is a drain down of fuel in the system which requires the sniff of ether to make it fire off?? Any other suggesting on what to check are welcome. Leon
