Yesterday I was very lucky. It rained for almost 24 hours. Temps got below freezing causing a minor amount of ice. Then snow. Thank God for the fast transition from rain to snow.
Many years ago I wasn't that lucky. Got about 3/8 inch of ice. The ER was full of people falling. One man made the news, he fell, hit his head on something and it killed him.
I took 1/2 inch metal screws with 5/16 hex heads. Put 10 in the sole of my work boots. Saved me from falling. I had studded boots. They saved my butt from kissing the ice.
