Freezing rain and snow

I live in Northern Ky. Southeast of Cincinnati. We are getting freezing rain now and later changing to snow. I have trees around the house in the yard and 30 acres of woods that I maintain. If the past presents a lesson, I will wear out a chain saw next week. It is really frustrating watching this happen. Ellis

Had rain last night and turned to snow at some point. About 26 here now with 4 or 5 inches on the ground and snowing steady. Supposed to stop at some point tomorrow. Western Ny.

Dry as a popcorn fart where I live in South Dakota. We would take about any kind of moisture right now.

Cold rain in Southern Middle Tennessee. Was 34 degrees when I went out do the chores, it's now 35 degrees at 10:20 AM. Supposed to develop freezing rain later today. I have to run to town for one errand then it's come home for two days and hope that this mess clears out. There's some flooding near me and the ground is absolutely saturated.

Nasty day.

Had the coldest night last night, -27 at the house. Weathe channel said -25. Nice clear day tho, a bit breezy

I drove I-90 from Mitchell to Sioux Falls and saw the bottoms of ponds I have never seen in 55 years. Yeah it's dry.

Tom I am 9 miles from the Ky border here in North middle Tenn and it is 34.5 air temp but the trees are showing ice. Really going to be a touch and go situation. If the temp drops any going to get bad fast.

Yesterday we got just light off and on drizzle here yesterday so no water problems. Changed to snow around 11 and had an inch or two by morning but it's been snowing hard since then. About 6 inches and continuing till morning. Fine snow so not piling up real fast.

Yeah, it's not fun to see all that destruction. But what I worry about the most is the possible power outages. We watched the governor on TV a while ago, and really, the whole state is pretty much facing weather problems, the ice being the worst. We're forecast to get 1/2 of ice. Mark.

Yesterday I was very lucky.
It rained for almost 24 hours.
Temps got below freezing causing a minor amount of ice. Then snow. Thank God for the fast transition from rain to snow.

Many years ago I wasn't that lucky. Got about 3/8 inch of ice. The ER was full of people falling. One man made the news, he fell, hit his head on something and it killed him.

I took 1/2 inch metal screws with 5/16 hex heads. Put 10 in the sole of my work boots. Saved me from falling. I had studded boots. They saved my butt from kissing the ice.

We got 2 here in N. Tx. within the past 24 hrs. Same thing with the trees, especially the Juniper family of trees....160 of them around my house proper planted in about 1995.

Went from rain to freezing here. O got to work at 4:30 this morning and then the county was under a travel advisory. I stayed till 10 then went home and it was getting slick by then. Looks like about an inch of sleet and now snow on top of that along with a strong wind from the north. Hard to believe it was 60 a few days ago!

Started Tuesday night late with thawing all day then cooled down and started to rain a bit then cold to snow. Got about 14-16 inches now on the ground with wind coming in today and the next few days will be fun with drifts. Have not finished plowing out yet. Lots to do. Will be close to 0 out the next couple nights and highs of about 15-20. MI.

About ten inches of snow in St Lous and more in Central Missouri . I feel like I have shoveled and snow blowed most of it today.

Tri state area may have dodged the storm. Had lite rain all day mostly with little ice accumulation. Changed over to snow about 6pm. Snows fine thats SE Indiana. Hope yours is same.

Thursday had rain changing to ice then maybe a inch of snow overnight. My electric has been off since 2 30 Thursday afternoon good thing I got a generator
