I have a few of questions that hopefully can be answered here. I have a 75 ford 3600 diesel that I have been rebuilding. Questions are 1. How does the hour meter work? I find one answer that says it is connected to the alternator, and another that says the tach cable runs it. 2.When unplugging the tach cable from the tach assembly and removing the instrument cluster from the hood the cable will turn. As soon as I reinstall the cluster it will not. I've rerouted the cable several times, but nothing helps. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
