I wanted to offer a followup and thank you to the great advice I got on my previous post.
I had the O-ring replaced on the oil pickup tube. It was hard and it broke when he tried to get it out. A cross-section of it looks like an oval. It looks like it should be round.
The truck now has better oil pressure than it has had since I've owned it. They also replaced the valve cover gaskets (which were leaking). It should be good for a while.
Love having a truck, but they're not exactly cheap to own.
