Blizzard conditions where I am in Iceland right now so its a good time to tell about my first tractor. Its a 1955 or 56 Massey Ferguson F40 that I bought at auction. Didnt think Id be the high bidder but surprisenow I owned a tractor with a good loader. Does firewood duty, pulls down the many dead ash trees around my place, lifts things that are too heavy for me. Primitive by todays standards but a big improvement over how I was doing things pre-tractor. Ive purchased a boom pole and a carry/all for the rear. Next project will be to build a box back there to get more firewood moved in one trip. Ive bought a couple other tractors that turned into projects so I sent them down the road along with a lot of other junk.
