First tractor I bought was a 1941 Allis Chalmers C for $500 in 2009. It needed a little work but was pretty easy to get running and I bought it to skid small logs and pull a wagon in the red pine plantations I was thinning at the time. The farm came with a Massey Ferguson 35 that I had been using since 2001 but the AC was a lot more maneuverable in the woods. I kept it for about 6 or 7 months and traded it for a Farmall H, not as cute but about as nimble and lots more power and traction. Had that till late 2012 when I replaced it with the Farmall 300, which is about the ideal tractor for what I have been doing these last 10 years.
