Ash makes nice lumber too. We have used it for all sorts of building from polebarns to gates. Does not take weather well will rot in 10 years as sawed lumber. Otherwise good for lots of wood jobs. We've used it for the plates to hold the rafters/trusses girts on the poles fasten siding and rafter pieces will split fairly easy for wood in the fire also. Been using ash for decades. Most of it is used or gone from bore.
