I am wondering them same , possible coil issue. It is not mentioned whether this 9n has been converted to 12v and whether a resistor is used, also if pos or neg ground. If everything is the same in the ignition system between the 2 tractors it would be easy to switch distributors/ coils etc to trouble shoot.
