In MN it's illegal to feed the deer near anywhere your going to hunt, considered baiting. A few years ago in the spring the snow was still deep, and the deer looked hungry, so I put out some corn for them. I watched a doe come and eat for a few minutes, then walk away 25 yards and throw it up! I called the local game and fish rep at the DNR, he said That's why you shouldn't be feeding the deer! It's just like feeding too much candy to kids! The deer in our area don't normally get any corn, too far north for it to grow well. There are usually lots of big round hay bales sitting around in the winter/spring, they eat a lot of that.
