Family stop at a state of Michigan fish hatchery in Allegan county.
Right next to a state hwy on a Sunday.
It was closed but not fenced back then so you could walk around the long and narrow open concrete rearing tanks of fish.
Each tank had a certain size of rainbow trout.
As mom walked around the tanks, the fish would go crazy trying to get as close to her as possible. The trout totally ignored the rest of us.
Come to find out it was because she was wearing the same color windbreaker as the workers uniforms.
Dad also told the story of "some kid" going there wearing baggy bib overalls. Sitting on the wall of the fish tanks with a hook and line running down the inside of the pant leg.............and walking out a little bit later.
