Go to the feed store and buy your floating catfish food. Bream love it as do the bass.........the bass????? We all know that predators are triggered into action when they aren't really out hunting food because they are hungry.
Toss a can full of feed out on the water and the perch will come and surface feed. Doesn't take long for big mouth to start cruising the area, milling around in the perch who pay them no attention because they are looking up at the next morsel to consume. As soon as the bass lines up an easy kill, a big swish of the tail, mouth open, down the hatch.....while the suvivors scoot for cover. Fun to watch.
I have piers on my pond and call the perch when its time to feed. I stomp my way out to the end and you can see the ripples in the water where the perch are making a B-line for the pier. Great Sport
