I presume your log splitter has an independent hyd control valve. If that's correct then for tractor hyd system to operate correctly LS valve needs to be configured for closed-center hyd system. Some hyd valves are built to accept a conversion plug to change valve from open center to closed center configuration.
The side of tractor breakaway coupler that splitter control valve pressure hose is attached will determine which direction tractor SCV control lever needs moved. IIRC splitter valve pressure hose in RH breakaway will require tractor valve control lever moved rearward.
