Even sotx goes to winter fuel. A truck with 100 gal fuel tanks can buy fuel and be 600 miles north before refueling. Therefore all the suppliers go to the winter version. And yes, even in so tx, we see the loss of mpgs when this happens. My diesel passat normally gets 44 to 54 mpg... winter fuel means it drops to 36 to 44 mpgs at best...Every year, like clockwork. In the big trucks its harder to see the difference between 6.7mpg and 6.9 mpg pulling a 25k load. And the big trucks only roll with trailer on them.
