One has to watch out for the fledglings in tall grasses, either they nest there or fledge to high grasses. I rescued one from a field I was mowing. He dropped down into the uncut area and started crawling at the base of the plants. I somehow found him/her in the thick of it and when let go, flew pretty decent, landed in a nearby buckthorn and stayed there, another day or so and flying will be nearly perfect. His folks were nearby. Was fun to see him make it to the buckthorn, struggling just a little, but made a good landing !
