Sounds like the 1960's when the Big Block mils came out....cheapest, lightest, bottom of the line car with a big can of whoopie under the hood. I gotta laugh. We were out on a country one night and a loudmouth was boasting about his 1969 Biscayne 2 door, 348 Chebby with 3 duces and 3 on the tree.....was from California, stationed in Texas and everything was Cal. this and Cal. that......
So this real quiet guy was there and was driving his mothers 1955 4 door 265 with a powerglide.....Haaaaaaaaa. Never guess who won. You guessed it... the quiet guy. I know they use Powerglides in dragsters for the fast shot without spinout. That was the hot dog's problem.....he didn't know how to drive his hot dog car.
And then on to 1971 and a friend had a Red 2 door Biscayne with a 409......speed limit was 60 at the time.......
